My fellow yoga teacher training girlfriends and I met almost 4 years ago now. They have become some of my absolute best friends and whenever we get together we try to make the most of our time, creating mini-retreats. Sometimes these are a yoga class and a healthy meal other times they are weekend-long events.
Silence your phone and leave it in your room when you are with your girlfriends for the weekend.
How to create your own yoga retreat:
SET TIME FOR YOUR BODY
Book a special class or workshop with a great instructor or if you and your friends are certified, take turns teaching and bringing something new to the group. Last time we had our mini retreat, we had meditation, inversions and worked on assists. It was a great way to practice different things we wanted to take time breaking down and being able to be the student.
TRY SOMETHING NEW TO EAT OR DRINK
Cook a healthy meal together, try a new restaurant or sip different types of tea. Slow down and enjoy your friends and nourish your body after lots of yoga and laughing.
BRING YOUR BEST GEAR
