I love drinking homemade juices to get more fresh, nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables into my diet. I’ve already shared three of my favorite supercharged juices, along with the juicing equipment I recommend. Now the folks at ActivewearUSA are giving away A FREE JUICER that you can enter to win!

Right here I want to tell you about two other juices I love to make. Both are loaded with flavor, vitamins and minerals, but are low in calories and free of added sugar.

Whenever you make juice, remember to make only as much juice as you can drink at one time. Fresh juice has no preservatives, so it is susceptible to developing harmful bacteria if it’s not consumed immediately. Each of these recipes makes about 16 ounces, enough for two delicious and refreshing servings.

Summer Citrus Surprise
Juice from 2 grapefruits
4 whole carrots
1 whole red bell pepper
2 cups of leafy green
Chunk of ginger, a garlic clove or a jalapeno pepper

Wintertime Wellness
1 large head of broccoli (stalks and florets)
1 cup of sweet potato
1 cup of cauliflower
A handful of kale
Juice of 2 oranges
1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk or coconut water
